Can someone tell me what the measurements is from point to point on a triangle insert with 1/2" lc?

hypothetically, 0.866" tip to tip on a perfect triangle. That being said, your tip radius will effect the actual dimension.

Not to disparage Dave's link (I did the math by hand, but then again I'm one of those weird engineer types that knows that sort of thing instead of how to spell, dress fashionably, or not be awkward), but for those readers who prefer a pretty picture, see below. I also included a 1/64" radius just for example. The 0.4844" and 0.8119" are to the tip of the radius.
