I don't know which is cooler, the one with the two loose cubes or the one with the three, all secure in one piece! I'm in awe of both, will have to play with that idea.

The thing that has always stopped me from making a 'cube' with all cubes being loose was the need to machine plugs to hold it together while doing the last side(s).

Never thought about using hot glue. Need to resurrect my project. I have made a 'jack' in a cube and it was harder to make the plugs than the actual jack in a cube.

If you do some searching on the net you can find pictures of various 'turners cubes' and the formula for the hole borings.

And all done with a 3 jaw chuck and no special jig!!! Great idea using a split caller to hold the cube in the chuck. That was fantastic.
