Twin Cylinder Steam Engine

This is too cool. One of these days, I need to build an engine of my own design.

Looking very good, thanks for posting. Hope there will be a video when done, they are best seen "Live".

Patrick,-

Have beem admiring your efforts in making this steam engine - wonderful job!

I have been working on plans for a similiar engine but for compressed air. I have a question regards the reversing gear. I can understand how it works but the connection of the steam chest valve shaft to the reversing quadrant (is this the right term?) is baffling me. It appears to have a clevis and cross pin in the curved slot which is controlled by the shifting lever, however, the reversing quadrant also has a pivot yoke silver soldered to it at mid point which would seem to me to prevent the valve shaft from free movement top to bottom, and vice versa. Obviously it can do so but I can't seem to grasp how. Do you have any more close up pictures to show the detail in this area?

Thanking you in advance
