New member (and newbie) here. So recent a member that I need this post to earn my basic forum search stripes.

The short of it is that I'm starting to look at tool grinding for my small home shop. I've seen online comments regarding decent Deckel clones being made in Asia but have found only one vendor, and they're offering a $500+ SO-style machine that got low ratings from the two reviewers.

Has anyone had a good experience (or know of one) with a Deckel knockoff?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Much appreciated.

Happy Holidays,

Dan

Have you had any luck choosing a universal grinder? I'm starting to look myself. Northern Tool has new ones for a semi-reasonable price. But, I have usually done better buying used, better quality equipment. The cheap Chinese stuff just doesn't get it done sometimes. It's more aggravation than it's worth. In this case, I'm not sure who is a better or worse brand.

Dan,

Are you looking to do some specialized sharpening like endmills or, it this for drillbits?
