I have a one hp electronically commutated motor made for use in variable speed furnaces/air handlers. "GE made by Regal-Beloit." Described here: https://www.regalbeloit.com/Brands/Genteq/Aftermarket-Products/Evergreen-Motors

It appears to have control electronics built in; the literature seems to suggest there are . There is a five pin connector that looks like "power" and an 16 pin connector that looks like "control." The document linked seems to identify 4 discrete speeds. Has anyone seen these motors used on tools and know if they are capable of variable speeds? They are "air over" motors so would need a cooling blower.
