Occasionally there is a need to straighten a bent shaft so I made a pair of vee blocks for that purpose. These were made
from a piece of 3/8 material and 1/2 inch hot roll steel. They are bolted together with two 1/4x20 cap screws in each piece.

Narrow blocks are handy so you can support them exactly where you want them.

They could be mounted on the mill as well for other purposes I suppose.

I can certainly seeing those being handy too have in the shop.
Not just for shafting but also to hold square stock for milling.

Good job... Stuff like that is invaluable! As I clean my shop, about 100lbs of that kind of stuff has already been rounded-up. This time around, I'm doing a better job of sorting and organizing it.

Nice. I straighten inboard and outboard shafts all the time.
I worked at a shop in savanna Ga. where they straighten shrimp boat prop shafts in the lathe. A shop made deal, it had two fingers above a 12 ton bottle jack. You find the high spot with a grease pencil, hit it with the jack, check, and do it again. The guy would get them within .003
Go old timers...
