Vertex rotary table problem? ??

I have a new 6 inch vertex rotary table I got from precision matthews I've had it couple month and used it like 3 times so I had my helper put it on the mill for me and the collar that turns it on and off won't stay engaged I turn it to on and as soon as I spin it clockwise it turns off any ideas what it could be thanks for any help I'm not super familiar with rotary tables but according to the manual I'm operating it right ???

Once you engage the worm you have to lock it with the locking screw, circled in red. Turn it clockwise to lock it against the eccentric barrel that carries the worm.
