I acquired this dividing head at an auction for not very much money. I had no idea the maker until someone on PM pointed me to a cut from Catalog No 19, circa 1917. It seems to operate just fine. And besides a couple missing oil plugs, it seems fine. And it’s over 100 years old!

To be honest, I don’t know if I’m going to keep it or unload or scrap it. It’s probably worth more at scrap prices than I paid for it. Or at least close. And there doesn’t seem to be a lot of information out there in it, so I doubt the machine this was paired to is in use today. Are there any others out there? I couldn’t find even pictures outside of an illustration from the catalog.

If someone out there has an interest in it, I’d be happy to work something out. I hate the idea of scraping it, but it’s taking up space and my shop is very small.

I'm interested. "Conversation" message sent.

To put "very early" in perspective, Brown & Sharpe invented and produced this device during the civil war.

Very early for K&T, no? It was in their catalog circa 1917 and I could find no reference to it before then.

I have decided to sell it and have a buyer pending. It's just going to take a while for us to connect.
