Daryl, if I understand your question the answer is yes. There is a great writeup on the internet (search metric threading on south bend lathe) where I found my information. I not only made 37 and 47 tooth gears, I also made 28, 32, 36, and 48 tooth gears so that I could cover all the metric pitches I normally thread. PS I used Delrin to make my gears from, it is plenty strong for the purpose and it machines beautifully. Jack
