A neighbor gave me this because I was learning some machining. It has carbide bits so I assume it is a metal working tool. The micrometer has custom depth markings from 3 to 5 inches by .001. No name on the tool or the box that it is in. Any ideas? I might not have any use for it but I would like to find out what it is and if anyone could use it.

Tool set or an automotive boring bar I think.
The mic to measure the tool and the T handle look very Van Norman.
The anchor (pic 475) doesn't look like any of the van norman ones I've ever seen.

I was staring at the tool bit thinking "looks a little like my rottler tool" and then I saw it....on the box in pic 474 is says rottler.
I have never had the tool kit I just have the other part.
Sure love to have that mic.

Not sure but I'd guess the boxed set is for cutting keyways in shafts , and the other is part of a line shaft boring set up. Or to bore cylinders in car engines.
