What should I bid on this HLV?

Well, it's at 12,000 now with 44 bids plus a 19% premium and local sales tax...
You want it and can afford it. It's close-by so you've examined it in person.
What are the odds you'll find another one like it?
It's meant to be, so damn the cost.

I've seen those go for as little as $6k and as much as $18K. But it's really up to how bad you want it and how much you are willing to spend.
That being said, It is a gorgeous lathe!

Investigate the auction company. Looks like a scam to me. That lathe isn't worth a warm bucket of spit.

I'd check it out pretty close, its had a paint job, pretty shinny for the wear on the tags. There's no 3 jaw, tapper attachment, follow rest or steady rest.all costly items to find.

Price is too high at least in this part of the country. I have seen them sell for half what this one is at right now

They sure bring big money.
What's it worth to you David?
Somebody wants it bad!
It sure looks to be in outstanding condition

The Hardinge HLV-H is considered one of the finest, most accurate lathes ever produced. One with both, imperial and metric threading is a very rare find.
It may not be worth it to you but to someone who knows what they are looking at and has the cash, it could be the deal of a lifetime.
Also, Bid Spotter is not a scam auction site.
