Here’s another item from a recent tool lot purchase. I know it’s a grinding jig, but would like to know who made it or what machine it might have come with. It’s small at 2x2-1/4” footprint and about 2” high. The table tilts -20 to +15 degrees and the top rotates from 0 to 50 degrees. There is a marking 100 on it but nothing else. Any leads appreciated.

It looks like it could be a shop made jig and it has a cutting tool, probably for threading, clamped in it.

The tool is a thread chaser insert. I doubt it’s homemade as to the degree numbers are almost perfect. Etching degree lines are easy, numbering is difficult.

I too guessed that it could be a grinding jig for thread chasers, but it lacks a stop to insure all the chasers in a set would be ground equally, I have a fixture that is simpler than the one pictured that was made to re sharpen Geometric chasers.

There is a program on google that you snap a pic of an item and it will tell you what it is or at least show you pics of other ones if there has been a pic uploaded by someone else. I don't remember the name of it though.

If you right click on the image, a popup menu shows "search image with Google".
I searched on the image and didnt get a hit for this chaser grinder fixture.
This is a useful way to identify images on the internet.
So click on the image in OP's post, and right click on the image

To clarify, I meant not a production tool, but made in a professional shop or factory tool room. I agree, it's not likely homemade although it is possible.

Certainly possible if the person had an engraver. I like that jig, even for grinding any tools. I think it can be improved on slightly.
