This came with the tool lot I posted earlier. I have no clue.

It's a sine bar with the bars missing . ( and a scale , calipers , and q tip )

Looks like the sine bar was someone's incomplete project .

Hmm, so I guess that would make it an unsine bar or a sine de nada bar?

Looks to me he messed up the bar and quit , unless he was planning on a 5 1/2" bar . The OP could easily save it and make a usable tool out of it though . I have an oddball sinebar that has messed me up over the years once in a while , same thing . Looks like a 3" while actually being a 2.5" .

Don't know why the font changed half way thru the post .
