When you need that ONE special collet...

I have a basic imperial set. So it jumps from 1/2 to 9/16.
Seems I can tighten down the 9/16 as hard as I want but it is just short of grabbing the 1/2 roundstock properly.

I can order collets cheap enough off Amazon, so I did for a single Uxcell. But shipping takes a long time with them...Well (duh), that is sort of to be expected I would think if you do the math :p

In any case, it is no real emergency, I am just a home amateur hobbyist... Most tooling shops are quite a distance away from my tourist location unfortunately..

13mm collet = .512 ID
14mm collet = .551" ID.

Cheap ones on Amazon for around $10 shipped.

Go emergency collet but if you need a hardened collet Hardinge has them in any decimal size you want by thousands like .504,.505 ect. They even have metric, letter, and number sizes round serrated ,taper hole and even rectangular, in popular sizes.
