Anyone out there know the meaning of WIDIA? It is a contraction of "like diamond" in German --- coined by the inventor of tungsten carbide, Krupp, who initially used it for wire drawing dies, then discovered that it could be used for cutting tools as well. It is pronounced Vee Deea.
