[How do I?] Wire This Up? 220 Volts Is My Choice.

Is this a new motor? It looks newer than the lathe.

I don't know. I think he said he has it a while.

The motor is at least 8 years old, I got it in 2007, but it has never been used....the lathe is 1947

Does your power go into the drum switch or does it go directly into the motor?

I had a similar problem, but more complicated. My motor on my mill had no wiring diagram and the wires had been disconnected. I found a knowledgeable local motor rebuilder who came out, looked at it, wired it up nicely and charged me $40. It works great and my anxiety level was greatly reduced.

It functions just fine now... I do realize that because I am using 220 volts, that this switch works, it is not ideal for my application.

Great, 220 volt will make a great power source.
