looking for a steady for a mong wards 700 series so any logan 10" should do the trick. let me know if ya got one kicking around or an idea where one might be

It took me a while to find one for mine, but I did finally find one a couple years ago. I think I ended up paying about $100 for it. I also found a follow rest for it, but that took longer. Don't remember what I paid for it.

I just looked on ebay and they're asking over $200 there now.

yeah 200 plus for a well rusted piece... plus get raped on shipping, ebay isn't what it was 15 years ago! but its not like you can go to the corner store and grab one...

Sounds like the perfect project opportunity if you ask me, especially at those prices.........However nobody asked me so there ya go!

I just bought what I think is a 10 inch Logan steady rest. I will send you pics when I get back to the shop

Here are some pics. My intention has been to adapt it to my 12" Craftsman but if the price is right I will pass it along. Minor issues include: (1) one finger-adjusting screw missing but easy to replace; (2) it is missing the original foot that goes under the ways but has been replaced by some strap steel pieces, and (3) it has a crack that was brazed but appears ok.

2X on making one if they are that pricey. There are DIY plans and videos online.

I would never make something that I can buy unless I literally have nothing better to do. Which in 75 years has yet to happen. eBay has/had nothing to do with the steep shipping cost increase over the past few years. If you want to blame someone, blame the people who think that everyone should get a raise every year for doing exactly the same thing.
