WTB: Machinist Level

I need something suitable to level a 12x36 lathe. I thought I might check here to see if someone has an un-needed one before buying on ebay.

I read that a 12" is good for this.

Would there be an advantage to something shorter like a 6" or 8"? Maybe it would be better for milling setups, but still adequate for leveling a lathe?

12 inch is what you need. Tony would like one also. I will hit the storage garage tomorrow and see what I have. I keep all the spare stuff there, it is temperature controlled.
