I’ve had the PM 835 for several months now and overall, I love the machine. However, I noticed unlike any of the other knee mills that Matt sells, this one does not have any chip guards nor any provisions for them. I guess if I want to install my own I have to a drill a couple of holes. I’m wondering if anybody has put them on their mill or even found the necessity for them?

Are you talking about the rubber way protectors?

I purchased these way covers from MSC; https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/09520016

Instead of drilling holes, I used ceramic magnets for the large cover on the back. I did it to start with to see how well they would work, not intending to use magnets permanently. To my surprise, they work very well. I've had them on a couple of weeks and they have not moved. For the front way cover, I used the two screw holding on the plastic way scrapers in the front, and drilled two holes in the metal strip of the way cover. The front I mounted with velcrow, and it has held very well too. Pics below.
