X axis problem PLEASE HELP

Hello I have an old index 39h that the x axis seems to be tight while cranking. I've adjusted the Gibs but even with the gibs loose it is still stiff to turn. Can anyone try to point me in the right direction. Thanks

Before I did anything, I'd verifyi that there is oil on the under-surface of the table. Unless the oil is liquid, it's going to drag as it moves. If not oily, gently disassemble the top piece, remove it, clean (oil lines too, if you have them) re-lube it and replace everything.

Probably gummed up. Disassemble, clean, lube and reassemble would be my first try. My Supper 55 was really stiff like that as well. Turns out a PO had use grease to lube it and that had dried out and was causing the problem.
