I totally agree with you on that. I bet my dad would agree too but he would probably want me to be curious about things that arent 4000 pounds :p
 
I've see really big machinery up for sale with a price of "Free, get it out of here." Even then they sit, because as was said, very few have the space, proper flooring, a need, and the means to move it. That last bit can make a free machine suddenly cost $$$$.
 
If I were 18 again, I would be only be trying to accomplish one thing: develop a skill set. The good news is that there are an infinite number of ways to accomplish this.
