Jon, those creeping vines with thorns sound like goat heads. They are nasty. Step on one with a bare foot, and it will punch right to the bone. Roll over one with your bicycle and it will flatten a tire. We had lots of them in West Texas. They like sandy soil. Usually, where you find them, you also find grass burrs — another friendly desert scourge.

OHHH! don't get me started on goatheads. With the unusually wet spring we had, they have been extra terrible this year.

That sounds like the ones. Nasty suckers. We had to fill the tires in the lawn tractor with 2 part foam so they wouldn't go flat every week. And those were much more substantial than bike tires. And the poor dogs would let EVERYONE know when they found one.

Progress. I haven't done much stranded wire yet, so this is just 2/3 or so of the wire, and I have plenty of copper pipe and tubing as well.

figured it was about time to change the plugs on my hemi...now that is at 99,000...it is a pita thats for sure specially when its 98 out...got the driver side done..(the worse side)....pretty surprised that the worst gap was only 60 thou...i was expecting more for never been changed...i'll get the other 8 when the heat won't kill me..


52 bucks for plugs vs 325 for dealer to change

Ok, one was at 60, what are they supposed to be. I can remember when that was the correct gap on some plugs.

Mark's new milling machine arrived yesterday morning from Ranch Cucamonga, Ca. 40' flat bed delivered at 07:00 after driving over night.

It seems the photo posting has changed so I apologize in advance for messy posting.
Sweet machine. Mark will post up specifications in due time. I will be fabricating a rolling stand with leveling feet allowing us to deliver the machine safely to his location.

Also got break in the weather and was able to paint the arbor stand and arbor press. The stand is silver hammer tone while the press is hammer tone copper/brown.

Shot at sunrise and allowed to bake in 106º (thanks to Mother Nature) for most the day.

Quality and stylish work as usual.

I gotta add, I wouldn't recommend that handle style because it makes putting long work into the press more difficult, maybe impossible. Different strokes . . .
