Give me a deffinate as to who is in and I will post some rules and make a plan. I will post the rules, but a wait week for others to add to the rules so we all agree. So far if everyone agrees it is a medium flat rate box.
Sounds good to me. I'm in.

Isn't that what they made duct tape and glue sticks for.

Na that is for the hard core, Second time around. Sounds fun to me. I think the first few or the first round is going to be nothing but adding something to it. of some of us could use a cheap small and send something to put in it to get it started.

Count me in too.

Any one of the mods should be able to give a thread 'sticky' status, but that can be saved for when it gets going full tilt in 'production mode'. I stepped down from being a mod, just too doggone busy, so I cannot do it, but I am sure that Bill or George would be happy to do it for us.

As for the box itself, I like the idea of a wooden box that just fits inside the cardboard USPS medium box. The inner box could be made with a lid held on with screws as already mentioned or could be made with a simple hinged cover, held shut by only two screws. It would still be necessary to pad the contents in a manner sufficient to keep it from moving around inside or getting damaged.

My only worry is that taking the screws in and out will cause them to start getting to loose unless we put in hinges on one side then, put in a threaded metal insert that the screws would screw into, That way the wood would not give out from the screws being removed and put back many times.. Just thinking down the road, Know it would work at first with just screws into the wood, but what about later.

Ok, it looks like there is enough interest to go forward. I will start putting a list together of those interested and begin looking at a shipping container. The wood box seems like a good idea, but maybe overkill. I have shipped a lot of heavies in flat rate boxes and have never had a problem and the fact they are free makes it easy to replace if it starts to come apart. That being said, I will still look into making a box for the inside. I will also put together a list of those who have expressed interest in participating. Look for a list of rules to add to or change, not a lot , but a few to try to keep this running smooth. "I will add this now to see if you agree or have a better way. "(If interested the person will e-mail or message me their name, address, email and phone contact number. I will then post a list of members site names in the order they will receive the package. It will be the responsibility of the box holder to contact that member to get their information so they can ship it to them. I would only have the info in case someone was unable to make contact with the next person on the list.) Only an idea, maybe someone has a better one or has done this before and knows the best way.

I'm in! Great idea, and I already have a ton of useful stuff to add.

The gun forum I frequent has one of these going around and its tons of fun. I've gotten it twice over the course of a couple years and had a huge laugh both times. The way we did it was to have a rolling list of who's in and as people want to get it they add their name to the bottom of the list and repost it as they're interested. When they get it and send it back out they remove themselves from the top of the list. We've used a large flat rate box and even that was always a huge game of 3D tetris to get everything to fit :p Any time the box got too beat up it was replaced with a fresh box. Each person was responsible for getting their address to the person before them. People who didn't get their info out in time were skipped but could cut back in later in line. After you got the box you could add yourself back in at the bottom of the list if you wanted.

Assuming everyone who posted wants in the current list is:

Autonoz
4Gsr
JpFabricator
Brosephus
SuKi
TerryWerm
Andy Rafferty
Brino
Kingmt01
Roadkillbobb
