Bull Nose Endmill

Thanks, and the price is right.

I would talk to cgs tool, American made and great prices, awesome tools, they are my go to

no joy at enco or MSC, unless it goes by another name.

Yeah, it is a corner radius end mill. Not the same as a bullnose, which has a larger radius profile than the diameter of the cutter. I see full round over profile called bullnose but that is not correct.

Got a Grind Shop Close by or a friend with a Cutter Grinder? Take a 3/8 end mill to them and explain what you need. It's an easy grind job.

I have the tool grinder. But it sure didn't look like an easy setup to me. I suppose i could have figured it out. But for sure, not to save $20.

Yeah, you have to have a radius grinding attachment for your T & C grinder to put a corner radius on the endmill. And it takes someone really good to perform the grinding operation. I have the attachment but never tried it.
Most of your professional grind shops now days have CNC grinders set up that do this and make complete endmills from scratch using a blank. Not too badly priced if you buy in quantities. Onesies and twosies can get pricy.

I have hand ground a radius on an endmill when I needed one and didn't have one. used a radius gauge. It cut but it wasn't a pretty finish. but it worked for the job. pump still running 10 years later. who knows might fail tomorrow. good thing I'm retired
