I made a sub frame tie down mount a few months ago for our motorcycle trip to Canada, http://www.hobby-machinist.com/showthread.php/6695-Sub-frame-tie-down-clamp It seemed to work good so I am making 4 sets for my friends. These have a little different design that I came up with that incorporates a quick disconnect swivel for a rifle sling.

First side complete.

Great finishing job - they look professional, like something you'd find on a store shelf.

Great finish and looks well thought out too. Can you post a pic of them in use on the trailer or loaded up for the trip? Thanks for the great pics and showing us your project.

If you get into commercial production, anodizing would give a good level of protection and various colors as well. It's not too hard to do at home. I believe Caswell or Eastwood offers a kit, or you can assemble the stuff on your own.

Thanks for the compliments guy’s

Bob,
I don’t have any pictures of them on my friends bikes yet, But will post some pictures when I do

Tony,
Thanks for the information on the anodizing kits, I am going to put that on my Christmas list this year
