A quick follow-up to this thread. I got the new parts installed a couple of months ago. The first step was cutting a sample out of the damaged area and adjusting the marking tools as needed to match reality. Took the better part of three days to get the damaged section down and make/install the new parts. Came out fine. The new parts and shiny and dark, the old parts are dull and faded. Time will even things out some but they will never color matched.
