I've converted my Little Machine Shop mill to CNC. It also has had all of the axis changed to ballscrews. I actually have a couple issues that are effecting accuracy. The first is the gibs. Once they get adjusted and the locking nuts tightened its fine for a few passes then the gibs are loose. The happens on the Y axis mostly but occasionally the X axis bothers.I've thought about using a removable Loctite on the gib screws to see if that would help.
The other issue is that the ball nut on the X axis comes loose from the set screws . This creates some sloppiness in the cuts as it loosens up.
Anyone have any thoughts on what is going on with either issue? I'm thinking that the Chinese set screws and nuts may be soft and I'm going to replace with new. ( Probably the new ones are Chinese too!)
