I just finished answering a question on Practical Machinist forum about scraping Turcite / Rulon and it starts out asking about sharpening blades. I hope it's OK to share this here as I don't want to cut and past all of it here.
Biax blade sharpening question
Everywhere it is written that the blade for scraping should have a sharpening with an angle of -5 degrees. In the Biax catalog, the blades have a sharpening of -3.5 degrees. I couldn't find an explanation for this anywhere. What angle would be correct?
