Hole pattern function

I can not figure out how to delete the previous hole pattern, I currently have about a dozen all on the screen at the same time. What am I doing wrong?

On the user manual page, third section from the bottom is called "Sub-Datum Memory": https://www.touchdro.com/resources/dro-manual/index.html#subDatumMemory. It covers all sorts of useful things.

What is the best practice when using the hole pattern, should I create a workspace for the part, a separate workspace for the hole pattern and yet another workspace for any subsequent programed operations?

There is no best practice. Workspaces are like "folders" on the computer.
90% of the time I use the default workspace. When I want to keep a layout for later, I save it into it's own workspace.
