This time I make an ER40 chuck for my lathe which has a ISO702-3 size #5 spindle nose.
There are two tapers in this chuck which should be fairly accurate in order to get the chuck repeating well.
The repeatability is the reason to build this chuck anyway.
I already have a 5C collect chuck but that one has it's limitations due to the very design.
This is a very long video but You can always choose the interesting parts using the section selection.
The music in this video was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750).
In this video I use:
- Weiler Matador SV (1972) Lathe
- Schaublin SV-51 (1955) Milling machine
The video is spoken in Finnish but it has good quality hand written subtitles in English and German.
