VN Incoming Vn 16s Question

What does the knob do that is circled in red? Is it a Y axis power feed? The manual I have says this machine should only have an X axis power feed. If it is a Y axis power feed, does the rate selector work for both the X and Y axis?

Looks like a one shot lubricator handle, see 24 below.

Correct, there should be a plug just above the handle, to allow you to fill it with way oil. Then every time before, or every so often during long uses, you just pull the handle, and the spring will pull it back, and lubricate the table and saddle ways. Seeing my VN22 sat for a long time, I had to work it with a fine oil (Tranny fluid I think I used), to get it flowing again.
