For a long time I wanted interchangeable vise jaws. I started with those angled magnetic ones with thin rubber glued to them. I then made a pair of aluminum jaws that always needed a screwdriver to make the exchange. None of this wasn't working. So here is what I came up with.

I made threaded studs that screwed into the holes and then added a nut with an o-ring to locate and hold the jaw in place. I then proceeded to make the jaws.

A set of:
Standard jaws
Offset jaws
Brass jaws
Hard rubber jaws
Hard plastic jaws
Aluminum jaws

No, the steel standard and offset jaws are not hardened. On those rare instances where I absolutely need hard serrated jaw, I can unscrew the studs and use the screws. I still have to make a pair of copper jaws for welding.

So far, I just love how they are working. Off and on in seconds.
