Since becoming a member here I've received a lot of great advice on this forum from members and I'll continue to ask for their help via Forum and direct messaging, but it would be nice to have a local contact to work with once in a while.

I'm a beginner looking to build up my skills and could use some help doing so.

Let me know if you're in the area - love to meet ya.

You and me both brother! I have a blast but I'd like more immersion...like apprentice type mentoring.

Thanks for reaching out, Guns - I had a nice machine lined up to purchase, and was going to pick it up this weekend but got terribly sick - still going through it. Waiting to get better, hoping the deal still goes through in a week or so, hopefully.

Yeah, I knew a good skilled machinist/builder/tinkerer up here once, but lost touch with him over the years - I'll have to drive by his house one day and see if he's still around. That's probably my best bet at this point. Don't seem to be a lot of people that do this work anymore, it seems. Wish my late father was still around - it was his life-long trade.

Good luck to ya finding your Masta!
