MT3 tailstock Collet holder ID

Can anyone identify this collet holder? The only markings visible are "(A-60570)" on the shank, and ½ on the collet although the collet is definitely not ½", but rather ⅜".

I tried a piece of ⅜" drill rod and it wouldn't fit.

Is there a square at the bottom? Good chance it is a tap collet for a 1/2” tap. Which bizarrely have smaller shacks than 3/8” taps…
