Sherline rotary controller question

Anyone here have a Sherline rotary table and controller that could do a quick check for me? I recently acquired a used controller and the accuracy seems to be lacking just a bit.

If you don't have the manual for it I would make an effort to get a copy- I see some features like backlash compensation that would be worth investigating but you need the book to know the ins and outs

I have read the instructions. They're in the Accessory Shop Guide and can be downloaded from Sherline. It appears the backlash compensation is the cause of my problem. I'm curious if this is because of the age of my firmware or if all controllers have the same problem. My firmware date is "03-30-2000." It seems obvious there should have been an update at some time as my controller does not act exactly as described in the instructions (no blinking cursor).

I think a call to Sherline is in order- unless they are not supporting it any longer
