Cool, where you work? I'm at GE's Durham Engine Facilty in NC. We do new builds although we have done overhaul in the past. Engineering and quality teardown's too.

Delta Air Lines... we do overhauls.

I've never ground a rotor... I've seen it in process a few times. I've spent many hours grinding stator vanes, though, mostly in GE CF6-80 and CF34 engines.

Ah, the good old cf6! I built those for about 6 or 7 yrs. You use the AmChem grinder for the stators? Ours was ancient. Lol
 
We grind them on a CNC vertical lathe with a grinding head. It works very well...
