1Ton arbor press ram question

I dont know if this should go on this forum but here goes.

I got this 1Ton arbor press coming mu way,but as you can see it is missing the ram and I must make one.

I know it should be 25mm×25mm,but I do not know the length and what the rack module must be or how to calculate it using the pinion and also of which material and must it be heat treated? Can some help with these questions? I will greatly appreciate it.

You're also missing the wheel plate that goes at the bottom- Usually the ram is just long enough to reach down to that

I do have it,it is just not in the picture. All I realy need is the pitch of the ram. I read that carbon steel is the way to go and the length I can work out. Don't know if it is nesssary to heat treat. The teeth needs to be trapazoidal as far as I know.
