Can any of you gents tell me what 4-jaw chick would fit a 1976 TSL-800D? I keep checking Ebay but haven't found any. Thanks in advance.

It's most likely an A1-5 mount but could be a D1-5.

Thanks guys. Is there a way to tell from these pictures or do I need to take the 3-jaw off?

Thanks! That doesn't appear to be a common size/mount combination. The search is on!

Maybe worth looking at, often chucks have a separate back plate and the chuck is a plain back mounting to the back plate.

Thanks for the links. I'm looking for a 8" 4-jaw. Hoping to find something used as this is just a hobby for me. Trying not to spend a grand for a chuck. I'm still trying to understand what to buy to get it to fit. My only other experience adapting a back plate to a chuck ended up requiring going to a machine shop because I didn't have large enough equipment to do it myself. Their fee was more expensive than all the parts I bought.

Took the 8" 3-jaw chuck off this morning. Confirmed the spindle is an A1-5 as Zam indicated. The first picture is the adapter plate and the third picture is the back of the chuck. Now pardon the questions:
1. If I find a new chuck that is indicated to be a A2-5, it would just bolt to the spindle correct?
2. If I find a chuck that is a "plain back", I would need to drill/tap holes to mount to my adapter? Or are they pre-drilled at a industry spacing?
