Is there anybody running this lathe? I have had it about ten years. It came with a Dickson tool post and one holder. Want to update to aloris and was wondering if anybody has qctp on their lathe and what size. Can not decide between the ca or cxa. Since I have retired after 35 years corporate life and now full time farming I have found need to update since hard to find Dickson in USA and using lathe more. Thanks
 
I have a CXA (PhaseII) on my 15x50 and it is good. The only draw back for me, has been that I had a number of 1" square tools, and the standard holder for the CXA is a 3/4" holder. I made a couple taller holders (with larger opening) and found some e-bay CXA holders with 1" opening. With the CA, the opening for the standard holder is 1".
 
I would go with the CA. Unless you do a lot of small work, bigger is usually better.
