Bakelite Pulley chips - is there a better option to fix than using a resin and also anyone tried making a metal pulley for these watchmaker lathes?

That pulley is for a watchmakers lathe, I think. What brand is it? It is not uncommon to see them in that shape. Most of the time a round rubber belt will ride on damaged pulleys ok.

Maybe just buy another lathe for parts with a good pulley. Actually I have 5 watchmakers lathes and could let one go for a reasonable price.

Yes, this one is from a marshal lathe.. I have two lathes.. same luck with both of them.. I will look for a headstock with good pulley..

Not a pretty sight! Make a new one of aluminum.
Thank you. Has this been attempted before. Also the indexing section needs to be drilled too.. but is aluminum strong enough and it goes on the steel spindle too..
