Bridgeport X-axis ways question

It would be analogous to relieving the center 1/3 of the bearing area of the underneath of a lathe carriage.

It's purposely relieved in the center. This is normal and is the same way on my Bridgeport.

I watched your whole series preparing for this rebuild. Thank you for the work you put into that.
