British HLV question

Hi folks,

I've been doing some PM on my British HLV, 1951 model. On the very bottom of the DC motor which electronically drives the carriage and cross feed there is a hole. Just a hole. No threads that I can tell. It's right under the worm gear which actually drives the carriage. When I fill the carriage transmission with ATF, it very slowly drips out of that hole.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Harry

I was wondering more if you ask the man from the link. He is advertising in some places that he have technical documentation for most old lathes. Below the pictures is email. If you ask him directly he might be helpful. Hi might have technical documentation to your machine.

Okay gotcha. I have the manual Tony sells. It's quite helpful but does not discuss the plug.

Thanks again,
Harry
