Clausing model 5907

Today rebuilt the master cylinder and installed it on the new top cover. Then installed the top cover after adding oil to the headstock. Then pulled the counter shaft assembly which was easy easy, 4 bolts and out it came. I removed the Reeves pully assembly to install it on my new shaft with a clutch and brake. Might get it in the mail this next week as he is shipping Monday afternoon. Pulling the Reeves drive off the shaft was simple. Removed 1 allen head set screw and then a Large screwdriver to start it moving and then taped with a dead blow hammer and it slid right off. I think i got lucky. Looks almost new. This lathe couldn't have been used bery much.20240414_162549.jpg20240414_182430.jpg

Still waiting parts from Clausing. I ordered a new Gits oiler as mine is leaking. And a oil level sight glass, and 1 clutch washer. And from across the pond from England a MDRO company very narrow 1um mag scale for the cross slide and a 5um for the carriage. They had the best deal so far for my touch dro. I'm guessing 2-3 weeks it will be finished.

My last bearing purchased from zero arrived today and it's installed. That's the Special radial bearing from Romania of all places.
And I received shipping confirmation for my 2 mag scales . Total out the door was $326.91 and $37.91 was the cost of shipping from England, not bad. The cross feed is a 1um, carriage is a 5 um. I'm going yo use Yuries interface with my Lenova M10 plus pad.
If you have never checked out the M DRO web site take a look. All kinds of goodies and shipping is reasonable. Their slim model is smaller than Electronica or other brands and made In house in England. I may try to do a y tube video of my installation.
