I just recently purchased my first boring head, a Criterion DBL 202b in great condition.
I would like to disassemble and clean then lubricate this BH.

Anyone have experience with these? How tight should the gib set screws be?
What type of bearing grease and oil?

How do I take it apart and put back together without harm?

    Thanks!

The gib set screws should be snug but not tight. Should be able to move slide with Allen wrench when adjusting. Some people use the middle set screw as an locking screw. Not really necessary if you have them all adjusted properly. Ken

Thank you. It was very easy. All cleaned up, lubricated. Feels really nice.
I used PurplePower to soak off all the old grease.
