Clean Up The Lathe & Mill

I have not done this yet, but I have been toying with an idea to make a retracting way cover using a "SilPat baking sheet" to cover the ways between the headstock and carriage. It would be an easy job to just brush the chips off and keep the way area in front of the carriage free of most chips. I also use a shop vac with a cyclone separator on a five gallon bucket between the vac and hose to catch chips before they go into the bag. I have not replaced a vacuum bag in over three years with this setup. I use this for clean up after most large chips have been removed. I am a fanatic when it comes to cleanup as I hate working on dirty machines.
