I would like to remove the spinning crank handle from the crank wheel but it spins. Looking from the opposite side it is threaded. How would the spinning crank handle be removed?

No specific knowledge here....

That knob got screwed on there somehow. My first guess that I would try "respectfully", until somebody knowledgeable steps in, would be to use a screwdriver (or similar) and see if there might be a little snap ring or similar that allows the spinning part to be removed from the threaded shaft.

I'm betting that stem was put on, then the handle (spinning) was pressed on over the stem if you don't see a way of screwing it on/off.
try pulling the handle off.

I have some small handles I got for a project that never happened; they have a retainer inside the handle that snaps over a groove in the shaft after you screw the shaft into the hand wheel:

You should be able to cautiously pry/pull the handle off so you can unscrew the shaft.
