Hi guys, got the new bull gear and was looking the headstock over and there is a tooth missing on one of the idler gears. I found a gear to replace it but it is about a 1/16" narrower than the one on it. Can it be shimmed for center on the other gears and be ok? Thanks Tom

By idler gear do you mean one of the gears in the drive train for the lead screw (change gears) or do you mean one of the backgears on the countershaft that is below the spindle? A photo would be the best thing here.
