How do I attach my indicators to my magnetic base?

How do I get the stud out of there? I mean, I know I could drill it out, but how was it stuck in originally? It doesn't seem to unscrew.

you loosen the knob, and pull the sleeve toward the knob, while pushing the knob toward the sleeve


or completely unscrew the knob, it will become more obvious. If not, let me know, I'll take pics of my old units.
