Hey guys, I think this is my first post here , but I've been a lurker for a while. Been thinking about getting a larger Lathe for a while. I currently have a 12-inch clausing 5900 series lathe with a 24-inch bad. Over the years I've accumulated accessories and parts for it that it's extremely well tooled. Well, i just agreed to buy this Webb takisawa lathe. Ill pick it up next weekend. Im excited to get it home so i can play with it!

It's an A mount. I was hoping for a D mount. Didn't come with a lot but does have a collect closer, 3 jaw chuck, steady rest and change gears. There's also a spare tailstock ram that looks to be a 3mt if it fits.

While there i asked about the mill and made a package deal offer. So now I'll have 2 filthy machines to clean up. The PO bought both these machines new and they think they'll be able to find the original paperwork which would be cool.

Quite a first post :encourage:

They should be good machines, hope I can find a package deal like that when it's time for me to upgrade.

Cheers,

John

Welcome to the club! I think you are going to get these pieces cleaned up nicely. The Takisawa is an excellent lathe IMO.

Let me know if you’re selling stuff off in a couple of months.

what are you guys using for a quick change. I was thinking maybe a kdk 150 or 200 size or aloris bxa or cxa size.

Got the lathe home! Haven't got it in the garage yet, but...baby steps lol. Was hoping the paint would have cleaned up ok but it was worse than i thought. It was bubbly.. Interesting writings on the orange primer..
