I added the iGaging 12" scale to the X axis of my Grizzly mini mill. I originally mounted it with the back edge of the table with the pickup right in the middle, like I've seen a lot of other people do. However, I found out this limited my Y axis by about 1.5cm because the pickup would touch the webbing on the base which support the column. I don't know if I'll ever need that extra 15mm of travel, but I relocated the pickup to one side which forced me to extend the mounting point for the scale beyond the edge of the table. I'm probably over thinking it, but it gets full travel on Y now.
